jump/cut (DF Trams Live Band Project)
jump/cut synthesizes a bent
sonic mayhem from the rapid-fire polyrhythms of drum n' bass, shapeshifting
textures of ambient soundscapes, and hypnotic trip-hop groove impulses.
using "live" drums, bass, guitar synth, vibraphone & dj they create a neo-electronica
full sensory alternative for dance floor victims that flows naturally and
unobtrusively into all corners of the room.

Waveform
Recordings |
The WAVEFORM label
began life in the summer of '93, when a nomadic being from England's Beyond
label (inventors of the term "Ambient Dub") visited the UFO filled canyons
of Sedona, AZ, and mind
melded with a radio ephedra type who was also exploring chilled ambient
beats from the UK and Europe. Twenty minutes later,
WAVEFORM hatched and we began our
journey of establishing a genre of music we call "exotic electronica."
In May, 1994 from
Sedona, we brought our first release to market, with national distribution
through the Navarre Corporation. The
highly praised, best selling compilation of UK artists known as "ONE
A.D." (volume one ambient dub), was followed soon thereafter by
Birmingham, England's HIA, the Higher Intelligence Agency and their debut
and now out of print release, "COLOURFORM."
And the rest as we say
is history...

Bruce Haack |
Bruce Haack(1931-1988) was a musician and composer, and
a pioneer within the realm of electronic music.
Haack worked extensively on children's music, releasing more
music and seeing more success in this field of music than in
any other. Despite not having any formal knowledge in
electronics, Haack built his own musical instruments, like
"The Magic Wand," "The Dermatron" (a synthesizer that was
played by leading an electrical current through physical
contact with another person) and the "People-odion."
Most
of the Haack/Nelson albums remain unreleased in the United
States, though they are available through Japanese imports
and via peer-to-peer file-sharing programs.

submodern |
submodern is dallas
bethune and art kerns, two friends who have been performing live electronic
music together for several years. their music -- melodic, moody, and spacey
with bloops, bleeps and beats -- has drawn comparisons to other melodic
electronic artists such as orbital, black dog, and early autechre while
still sounding uniquely submodern. their live sets are known for their free
flowing nature, somewhat of a rarity in modern electronic music, with no
predetermined order or length to the songs and no single computer sequencer
controlling everything.

Monta Music |
Their
music is a story of brothers working it out as brothers do best.
Dedric Moore and Delaney Moore are the manipulators sharing their passion
for dub, blunted jazz, post-rock, ambient and abstract funk.
Monta has set out on a mission to explore these ideas with the mindset that
everything is open for inclusion in their musical spectrum. Monta have also
set a goal to ignore the urge to "move the dancefloor" and make music purely
for the listening experience...

Ishq |
Ishq
are based in St ives Cornwall in the uk and have been writing music since
about 1992 in one form or another originally inspired by the bands in the
days uk free festival and by many of the bands who played at those rather
crazy events. They began jamming with a number of people in what became
extended and un-recorded spaced out ambient jams and once or twice played
themselves at festivals out of the back of a van to rather confused looking
trippers.
Ishq
also wrote and released under various names a number of early acid house and
trance tracks and was 1/3rd of 'Crystal moon ' who released an album also on
Kinetix in 1997. Their
album 'orchid' was well received and a series of live events followed
this. Ishq
are currently working on the next Ishq album and this will be coming out in
2005.
